Baryonyx is a genus of theropod dinosaur which lived in the Barremian stage of the Early Cretaceous period, about 130–125 million years ago.

Suchomimus was smaller, lived earlier, had proportionately longer legs, had more of a long, muscular ‘hump’ than a sail, and was generally more closely related to Baryonyx.
